  The assignments in this course guide students through the steps and components of a large
research paper, and this week’s assignment is the analysis of how your chosen leadership
style/theory works best for your organization, which is the third section of your critical analysis paper.
Writing an analysis can help you build support around your leadership theory. This is where you use
the peer-reviewed information from the literature review and add any additional sources to address
the purpose or thesis statement. Conducting an analysis involves organizing, interpreting, and
structuring data into presentable information that’s useful for real-world applications. An analysis
goes beyond your opinion, so you will need to use an academic tone to build powerful arguments.
Each section of your analysis should align with your thesis and examine a single category, group, or
theme you discovered through the literature review.
To prepare for this assignment, you should:

• Access your graded assignment from week four with the instructor’s comments.
• Access the “Write” section in Academic Writer.
Instructions for Completing this Assignment
The analysis section of the paper should be 1,000-1,200 words. Divide your analysis into heading
sections that delve into specific topics or themes. All sections should support your thesis statement,
either by providing background information, digging into details, or providing contrasting viewpoints.
Support your analysis using all sources from your literature review. You won’t convince your
audience by making statements without solid evidence to back it up; therefore, you must support the
main points of your analysis.
To complete the assignment, follow these steps:
1. Include a title page.
2. Compose the analysis section with the following components:
a. Incorporate headings around the specific topics and themes of your analysis.
b. Support the thesis statement of your paper within each section.
i. You will either provide background information, details, or contrasting
viewpoints, depending on your chosen leadership theory.
ii. Support your analysis using the sources from your literature review. (Note: You
do not need to include your literature review in this section. Save this for the
final assignment.)
iii. Use proper APA in-text citation formatting, but do not use direct quotes in your
work. Instead, paraphrase and summarize your sources.
3. Include a references page that incorporates any necessary changes based on the instructor’s
comments from the assignments in weeks one through four.
