Leadership and Ethics: Interviews with Leaders (writer with health connections if possible)

Assignment #1: Interviews with
Leaders

Unfortunately, I am unable to have
anyone contact me back to approve an interview. If any writers with connections
or health leaders can complete this paper, it would be much appreciated.

If
possible please send me their names and place of work to submit.

STEP 1

To complete this assignment, you will need to choose
and interview two leaders. You will then develop a profile of each leader’s
attributes based on these interviews and everything you’ve learned in the
course about leadership ethics, along with a comparison of the two. I encourage
you to think about leadership – not supervision roles – during these interviews
and write-ups!

Before you conduct
the interviews, you will need to select the two leaders you’d like to work
with. For this assignment, one of your profiles must represent a non-white or non-male leader,
and one must
be responsible for programs in health sciences or domains related to healthcare
.
Other fields
outside of healthcare are acceptable if unavailable
. Please
contact your leaders well in advance and get their approval before submitting
their names.

After reading
extensively about leadership, based on your readings, case studies, and
interviews, you must develop a profile of two (2) leaders’ attributes.

STEP 2

Now that you’ve selected
the leaders you’d like to interview, it’s time to actually conduct the
interviews! Ensure you’ve scheduled a time with each of your leaders for the
interview and set aside plenty of time so you don’t feel rushed. Below is a
list of questions that may be appropriate and can serve as a guide for these
interviews. You’ll likely want to ask all of the common questions and include
at least two (2) from the list of additional questions.

Common Questions

  1. How do you define or describe
    leadership?
  2. What do you do to motivate
    others?
  3. What leaders do you admire and
    why?
  4. What is your vision of your
organization for the 21st century? Of healthcare?
  5. What motivates you – why did you choose
    the position you are in?
  6.  How would your colleagues
    describe your leadership style?

Additional Questions (Must Use 2)

  1. Briefly describe your education
    and experience.
  2. What are your leadership
    strengths and areas for development?
  3. What obstacles have you
encountered as you are progressing in your career and how did you overcome
    these barriers?
  4. What do you like most about being
    a leader? Least?
  5. What factors do you consider when
    making important decisions?

STEP 3

Once the interviews are
complete, you can write up a report of your findings which includes profiles of
each leader’s attributes, as well as a summary that contrasts and compares the
two. Your work should be no longer than 4 pages and use APA style

This assignment is
worth 60 points:

  • 50 points: 25 points for each interview and
    profile of the leader’s attributes
  • 10 points: A summary that contrasts and
compares the two; this should be based on your knowledge thus far of
theory and research, as well as leadership needs in healthcare.
  • Mechanics: Use of appropriate grammar,
writing mechanics, and APA style; a professionally appearing format and
document; and readiness to present and discuss the content of the report
in class are expected. Failure to do so will result in a point deduction.
