of food security. One of these is the international organisation (IO), which
executes a number of roles in key areas.
Activity: Assessment of the efficacy of an international
organisation in ensuring food security
Description: Using the Food and Agriculture Organisation of
the United Nations (FAO) as the reference organisation, with the exception of
the research and innovation role, each of the students listed in the table
below will be required to:
Rate the effectiveness of the FAO in the specific area of
Co-ordination and partnerships
1. with respect to the governance of food security.
2. Provide a justification to support the position advanced.
3. Highlight potential challenges/issues that could impact
the success of the FAO in the execution of its mandate in the specific area of
Co-ordination and partnerships, the result of such impacts, and make
recommendations to address these
