Explanation of Marking:
-
Clarity of Rationale of Ideas: Does the student’s ideas make sense? Are the ideas logical? Are the explanations they use clearly demonstrating what their ideas are and how their ideas work?
-
Depth of Insights: Does the student show that they have thought through their ideas, looking at them from various angles? Has the student noted exceptions or weaknesses to their ideas? Has the student noted intricacies in their ideas?
-
Grammar: Is correct punctuation used? Is the sentence structure appropriate?
-
Application of Course Concepts: Is the student using concepts discussed in
class in their answer?
The test is due at the end of the day (11:59pm) on July 26, 2024.The test consists of 4 questions, based on Modules 1-6. You are to write a 1 page response for each question, totaling 4 pages (double-spaced, 12 point font). If your test goes significantly longer than the 4 pages, you will be penalized, so keep your answers efficient and succinct. Reference materials are NOT required for this test, and all of the information you need to answer the test was covered by the modules. However, if you want to reference materials (such as for direct quotes from a reading or slide), you may do so in APA style. If you use a direct quote from the slides or readings, you HAVE to reference it, so please keep that in mind. But, if you are using your own words to discuss concepts covered in the course, you don’t have to reference it (as I understand that the concepts are coming from the course).
Also, when you open the test you can start to work on it for how long you want. You can go into the test whenever you want and work on it whenever you want. Essentially, the test is 4 questions, each answered in 1 page, double-spaced, and you’ll be submitting a document (probably word, though I know some of you like using pdf, which is fine too) onto Turnitin. You’ll submit one document with all four answers on it. This also means there is no time-limit while the test is up, until the due date. You will have the full time until the final night of the test to answer the questions and hand your responses in.
In terms of doing well, try to answer the questions succinctly and directly, offering as much explanation and writing as thoroughly as you can in the short page length. It is always good to offer different perspectives on a concept if you can to show you’re thinking deeply about it, but the key is to be as thorough as you can in a short answer. Grammar is always important as well. There will be more information about marking when the questions are released.
