Paragraph 1: Introduction
- Identify the film’s title, director, and year released.
- In three sentences (one per main idea), identify the 3 main ideas that you will address in the assignment.
- Lastly, identify what drew you to this film/why you chose it.
- If the above is done correctly, the introduction paragraph will be at least 5 sentences in length.
Paragraphs 2, 3, and 4: Main Ideas
- In your first sentence, identify the main idea that you will discuss.
- For example, “The first main idea I will discuss is _______.”
- Describe and support the main idea by referencing what is presented in the film.
- Be clear and detailed; do not speak in generalities.
- Utilize no more than one quote in each main idea/theme paragraph.
- If the above is done correctly, each main idea paragraph will be 6-10 sentences in length.
