For this assignment, you must present the information that you have learned about changing demographics across higher education and provide an application of student development theories from this week’s readings to your own institution’s (or aspirational institution’s) demographics in supporting the holistic and intersectionality of students’ success. 

For Part 1 of this week’s assignment, you will prepare a table, chart, or image that captures the trending information over the last several decades as they relate to the changing demographics in higher education. You will then provide a two-page analysis of what you observe as significant. 

For Part 2 of the assignment, you will critique the student development theories from this week’s readings and discuss the ones that would be most applicable to assisting student services personnel in meeting the needs of your college’s demographics.

For example, if your college has seen a significant rise in women students, it would be important that student services personnel would want to understand how women might reorganize their sense of self and identity (Josselson, 2006)   Similarly, if your college has experienced a growth in LGBTQ community, you would want to ensure that student services personnel had an awareness of identity models for LGBTQ students (Schuh et al., 2016).
