For this assignment, you will be writing a Rogerian argumentative essay in response to the following question: Is civil disobedience a justifiable and effective method of activism?
Sources
For this essay, you must include evidence from at least three sources. You may use any of the class readings for two of your sources, but you must also include one additional source of your own choosing.
• The additional source may be a popular source (e.g. newspaper or magazine article), or a scholarly source (e.g. peer-reviewed journal article).
• The additional source should help you answer the questions from the prompt.
Format and Guidelines
• LENGTH: Your essay should be at least 1200 words.
• Note: If your essay contains fewer than 1000 words, you cannot receive a passing grade on the assignment
• FORMAT: Your entire document should be MLA formatted. Use in-text citations to give credit to your sources and include an MLA-formatted Works Cited page.

• AI USE: Although I expect you to do all of your own writing for this course, you may use Grammarly or other similar tools to help you revise your paper for clarity. If you use Grammarly or any other Al tool to help you edit your paper, please include a section at the end of the essay labeled “Al Reflection.” In this reflection, please respond to the following questions:
a. Which Al tool did you use?
b. In which parts of your essay did you use this Al tool to help you revise your work?
(Examples: the entire paper, just the introduction, etc.)
c. What were the top five issues the Al tool identified in your writing? (Examples: punctuation in compound-complex sentences, passive voice, word choice, unclear sentences, wordiness, etc.)
d. What did you learn about your writing from using this tool? How can you improve for the next assignment so you do not need to rely on the Al tool?
