Analyze the health issues of a community and suggest a policy to improve the health status of its citizens.

Go to http://www.countyhealthrankings.org/ and select a county and a state (this may be the county/state in which you reside, attend school, or plan to live and work).

  • What are the health outcomes in the County Health Rankings for the area you selected as measured by mortality and morbidity?
  • What are the health factors in the County Health Rankings represented by the 4 types of health behaviors (4 factors are health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic, and physical environment)?
  • Select one area in need of improvement.
  • What resources are available to address the problem
  • What policy might you suggest to improve the ranking in that area.
  • Identify and analyze one of the biggest global health issues and suggest how to minimize or eradicate the health issue.

The paper must be at least 4-5 pages in length but may not exceed 6 pages. Neither the cover page nor the reference page will count as part of the 4-5-pages minimum. Provide appropriate and scholarly sources for your paper. You are required to cite a minimum of 5 sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years; sources must be appropriate for the assignment criteria and relevant to nursing practice. Only two of the sources may be from websites such as “.org”, “.edu”, and/or “.gov”. Any source from “dot.com” or “dot.net” or “WebMD” or Wikipedia will not be accepted, and points will be deducted. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is not required. This assignment uses a rubric.
