You are tasked with conducting a meta-analysis on the effectiveness of therapies for depression in college students.
Objective: To analyze the results of several studies to determine the overall likelihood of an effect of therapies on depression levels in college students.
Requirements: Conduct a meta-analysis using the ESCI data analysis software.
Analyze 11 papers, including 6 provided papers and 5 additional papers collected by each student.
Ensure the collected data meet specific requirements, including random sampling, two comparison groups (college students in therapy vs. “adults” not in therapy), and availability of means, standard deviations, and sample sizes (N).
Timeline:
Week 1: Enter data from the provided studies into ESCI, interpret the forest plot and confidence interval to determine the existence of the treatment effect.
Between Week 1 and Week 2: Collect additional studies meeting the analysis requirements.
Week 2: Add data from additional studies to ESCI, complete analysis, discuss results, agree on a conclusion, and start writing the final APA style report.
Submission Details: Due before Sunday, August 15th, 11:59 PM. Submit via the main BB blackboard submission link in MS-Word format.
Late submissions require prior agreement from the professor.
