For this post, you will be summarizing a piece of literature and drafting a post introducing the study to your peers. Address the following three points, paying attention to important references and statistics. You do not need to discuss any results of the study.
- Using the background information in the article you select, talk about the health problem using basic statistics. (Example: Percent of the population with the health condition).
- Using the methods section of the paper, describe the interventions and other relevant independent variables.
- Using the methods/participants section of the paper, describe the characteristics of those included in the study (include statistics when appropriate). (Example: mean age, % minority)
Original responses must be 300-500 words in length and should be written in the style of a brief report for a fellow scientist. For this type of writing, it is appropriate to use any combination of paragraphs, bullets, and tables. Please cite in APA style; plagiarism will not be tolerated.
