Narrative essay is very different than other types of essays. A narrative can be seen as telling a story. Narrative essays are often anecdotal, experiential, and personal—allowing the writer to express themselves in a creative or moving way. Narrative essays are stories which are told to reveal a certain experience and point of view of the author. The author should make a strong point throughout the story and prove it at the end. It follows the patterns of fiction with key basic components such as character, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution. These essential elements keep a work running smoothly and allow the action to develop in a logical way that the reader can follow.
