Students will be required to turn in a final 10-page paper research paper at the designated time on the course schedule.
The final research paper will be a topic of the student’s choice (with the professor’s approval) that combines two of the concentrations studied by the student. This paper will be researched and manufactured according to APA/MLA/Chicago guidelines. This paper will be due during the finals period. Each paper must have at least 8 sources. The sources must be academic peer-reviewed journal articles or books. The text of the paper must be 10 pages. That does not include title page, abstract, or works cited pages. Only one of the sources can be from the course. Students may not submit papers from other courses as work for this course. The papers must deal with a topic that combines your two or three interdisciplinary tracks. Instructions can be found in blazeview.
Format: The papers must be typewritten (Times New Roman, font size 12), double-spaced and include page numbers. Do not add an extra double space between each paragraph.
Citations and Bibliography: It is extremely important to cite your sources of information by providing both footnotes/in-text citations AND a bibliography. Otherwise, you could be charged with plagiarism. It is better to be overcautious in this regard. Additional information can be found in blazeview.
Note: You must use each source substantially in your paper. You don’t want to simply pull one line from a source. You also don’t want to use one source for the majority of your citations.
There are several ways to think about your topic. You may want to do an informative paper, which gives the facts, issues, and discussions stated by scholars. You may want to do an argumentative paper, which is a bit more difficult and requires that you focus on proper argumentation. You may want to focus on a single paper, or idea within a paper, and use the rest of your sources to discuss, positively and negatively, that paper or the idea within that paper.
5. Research all perspectives of your topic to make sure you have a clear and balanced understanding of the topic.
6. After you have read your research, you will want to think about narrowing your topic to a thesis statement and creating an outline using your sources.
