The purpose of the assignment is to become familiar with the components of a research study and be able to differentiate a research study from an article that is not a report of a research study.
Student identifies a quantitative research study, preferably about their PIO/PICO question. Either on a printed or scanned version of the paper, the student labels sections of the paper with words and circles or highlights the section. (See sample assignment in Canvas)
This assignment is intended to allow you to show evidence of achievement of:
CLO 4: Differentiate between types of research designs.
Requirements:
Students will use their PIO/PICO statement to perform a database search to locate a quantitative research study. The student will identify sections of the research paper and submit the document to the appropriate drop box by the due date.
To be successful with this assignment, complete these steps:
- Perform a database to locate a quantitative research study, preferably related to the PIO/PICO question.
- Either on a printed version of the article or digitally, label sections of the paper with words plus circling or highlighting the section. (See sample assignment in Canvas).
- If printed, rescan the document. If digital, save changed. Upload the labeled study to the dropbox.
