CNN Object Detection Model Quantization for Reaching Real-Time Inference Speed on Tiny Edge Devices

The scope of the project includes:

1. Master Thesis Writing: Full thesis development based on the research project.
2. Software Coding:
   • The code should be written in Python, using the PyTorch framework.
   • The model to be used is MobileNet.
   • The dataset will be the COCO Object Detection Dataset, which needs to be quantized.
   • The quantization method to be applied is Quantization-Aware Training (QAT).
3. Presentation: A presentation summarizing the project and its outcomes.
4. Conference Paper: Writing a conference paper on the project results.

Additional requirements:

• I have to report to my advisor every two weeks on the progress. Any changes or feedback from the advisor should be incorporated as needed.
• I will provide detailed information or updates from my academic advisor if required during the project.
