I’m completing my Master’s in Sustainable Management and chose to finish with an in-company project instead of a thesis. I selected our family farm for this project, where I developed a comprehensive sustainability plan focusing on renewable energy, water conservation, and gender equality in agriculture. I’ve written a report and now need a PowerPoint presentation to pitch this project for graduation. As I’m currently busy managing farm operations, I’m seeking someone to create this presentation on my behalf. I also want to share how my tutor describe the presentation. I want it to be succint. Please use not fancy words also for the script. That’s why I chose college degree because it doesn’t have to look that much academic. I want to use daily life English with simple sentences. I can also share some photos from the farm later. This is the description: “Concerning the presentation, first let me explain the structure of the defense:
+ The presentation should take maximum 15 minutes, if you overpass maybe you will be stopped regardless if you will have finished.
+ Then there will be some questions from the tribunal (8/10 minutes).
+ Finally you will leave and the tribunal will decide your grade. However it will not be communicated to you until all the defenses will finish and the calculations will be done (a week later).
Therefore, you should prepare a presentation for 12-15 minutes plus some back-up slide for possible questions. I always recommend considering that you normally spend 2 minutes per slide speaking at a normal speed, so 10 to 15 slides should be enough for the presentation plus back-up. Too many slides make the tribunal travelling in a fast train, while few become the presentation boring.
The slides should have relevant information but being visual (charts, images, colours…). The slides should support your speaking, and you should not be reading them.
Regarding the content, 20% for introduction/ framework (industry, company, etc.), 20% about the issues/troubles, 50% about the added value (measures, developments, recommendations, etc.), and the last part about your learnings and experience.
Please prepare also some slides as back-up for potential questions. It is better marked when you answer a tribunal question adding more information. For instance, if the tribunal asks about the competition, you can introduce a table with a detailed analysis and answer based on that.”
