Overview

In this assignment, you will conduct research on Examining Strategies for Increasing Meaningful Engagement in the Face of
Homelessness and Incarceration . This will assist you in describing how others have attempted to address the issue, in recommending a possible strategy to address the opportunity for social change, in providing rationale for why you recommend the strategy, and in assessing how your recommended strategy could benefit the community members affected by the issue. Any feedback that you receive on this assignment can be implemented as you work on the second section of your project, in which you will describe the details of your plan to address the actionable aspect of the issue.

Directions

For this assignment, you will submit a short paper in which you research what others have done to address the opportunity for the social change you identified 

First, you will research and describe previous attempts at addressing the opportunity for social change, which will allow you to identify gaps in previous attempts and can inform the recommendation you will make. Next, you will identify potential strategies to address the opportunity and evaluate the strategies. Then, based on your analysis, you will recommend one of the strategies identified and provide justification.

Remember that you will need at least four sources that represent diverse perspectives to support your project in this course. Use this
opportunity to support your assignment with evidence. Use the feedback that you receive on the sources you use in this activity to help you
decide which sources to use for your project. Be sure to cite all sources using APA style.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Describe previous attempts at addressing the opportunity for social change.
2. Identify gaps in previous attempts.
   
   1. Compare what worked to what did not work.
   2. What was successful and why?
   3. What was unsuccessful and why?
3. Identify potential strategies to address the opportunity for social change.
4. Evaluate potential strategies to address the opportunity for social change.
   
   1. What are the benefits and limitations of the potential strategies?
5. Recommend one of the strategies identified.
6. Provide justification for why the strategy was chosen.
   
   1. Your justification should be supported by the research and evaluation of potential strategies.
   2. Consider the potential benefits to the community members affected by the issue.
7. Do some preliminary research to support your paper. Then, provide at least one resource that you could use in your project.
   
   1. Include the APA citation of the resource and a link that your instructor can access.
   2. This should be a new resource, not one already used for previous assignments in this course.
