Title (Should be concise and descriptive, typically ranging from 10 to 15 words)
The title in research serves as a succinct and descriptive representation of the study. It provides readers with an initial understanding of the topic and focus of the research. A well-crafted title can attract the attention of potential readers and convey the essence of the research paper. Additionally, it’s an important element for indexing and searching for research articles.
2. Introduction (2-3 pages)
The first part of your proposal is the initial pitch for your project. Make sure it succinctly explains what you want to do and why. At the beginning of the first page introduce your research proposal in one paragraph comprised of four to six lines including the following:
• Introduce your topic
• Briefly describe the focus of your project (this research proposal will examine the impact of ________ on the _____….
• Give necessary background and context (Please use peer reviewed articles and other scholarly sources)
• Provide a definition for the phenomenon and concepts that will be investigated in your proposed research project while using references.
3. Literature Review (2-3 pages)
The purpose of a literature review in research is to provide a comprehensive analysis of existing literature, scholarly articles, and other sources relevant to the research topic. It helps to establish the theoretical framework and context for the study, identify gaps in current knowledge, and demonstrate the significance of the research. Additionally, a literature review aids in building a solid foundation for the research and justifying the need for the study, as well as providing insights into relevant methodologies and research approaches.
4. Reference Page/ Bibliography (List all references)
In research, a reference page and/ or bibliography is a comprehensive list of all the sources, such as books, articles, and other materials, that have been consulted and cited in the research paper. It provides readers with the necessary information to locate and refer to the original sources that were used to develop and support the study. The reference page and/ or bibliography typically appears at the end of the research paper and follows the citation style, such as APA.
PAPER Requirements:
1. This assignment MUST be typed using APA style.
2. Please use headers as guided above.
3. This paper MUST be typed with double-space, one-inch margin & 12 font size, Times New Roman.
4. Proofread your paper before processing your paper through Grammarly Premium and include the Grammarly Premium score with your paper submission.
5. A minimum of 5 references MUST be included at the end of the proposal.References must be within 5-7 years).
Primary Research Questions
Formulate and develop both a primary Qualitative and Quantitative research question. These are the two major types of research, and it is essential to develop research questions for each type of study. These questions should encapsulate the main focus of the study and guide the research process. It should be clear, specific, and concise, addressing the central inquiry of the research. Additionally, the research questions should be answerable through empirical investigation and help to shape the direction of the study.
2. Research Sub Questions (a minimum of 3 questions)
Formulate and develop 3 Qualitative and 3 Quantitative research sub-questions. Research sub-questions are derived from the primary research question and serve to further explore specific aspects of the main inquiry. They provide a more detailed and focused approach to addressing different components or variables related to the primary research question. Sub-questions help to guide the research process by breaking down the main question into smaller, more manageable inquiries, and provide a structure for conducting the research and analyzing the data.
3. Hypothesis
Formulate and develop 3 research hypotheses; additionally provide a brief rationale for each hypothesis, explaining why you believe it is worth investigating and what potential impact the findings could have on the field of social work with supporting evidence. In research, a hypothesis is a clear and testable statement that predicts the relationship between two or more variables. It serves as a proposed explanation or a preliminary assumption that can be tested through empirical investigation. A hypothesis is formulated based on existing knowledge and is used to guide the research process by providing a specific focus for data collection and analysis. It is an essential component of the scientific method and helps researchers determine the validity of their proposed explanations.
4. Objectives & significance of the proposed study
4a. Formulate and clearly develop the main objectives of your proposed study.
-What specific goals do you aim to achieve through your research?
-How do you plan to address the research problem or contribute to existing knowledge in the field?
4b. Describe the significance of your proposed study.
-Why is it important to investigate the topic you have chosen?
-What potential impact could your research findings have on social work practice, policy, and the well-being of individuals and communities?
4c. Provide a brief overview of the theoretical framework or conceptual basis that will guide your study.
-How does the chosen framework support the objectives and significance of your research?
The objective of a proposed study outlines the specific goals and aims that the researcher intends to achieve. They provide a clear and measurable framework for the research, highlighting the intended outcomes and the steps needed to accomplish them. The significance of the study emphasizes its potential contributions to the existing body of knowledge, practical applications, and broader implications. It articulates the relevance and importance of research in addressing specific issues, filling gaps in understanding, or providing valuable insights for practice, policy, or future research.
5. Reference Page/ Bibliography (List all references)
In research, a reference page is a comprehensive list of all the sources, such as books, articles, and other materials, that have been consulted and cited in the research paper. It provides readers with the necessary information to locate and refer to the original sources that were used to develop and support the study. The reference page typically appears at the end of the research paper and follows the citation style, such as APA.
