Students will select and suggest an implementation approach for an operational-level (Management-level) change utilizing the four functions of management. Students will complete this project in the three project steps described below. Students will select an organization, assess its managerial effectiveness, identify a management opportunity for improvement, and make a recommendation to improve its managerial issue through the approaches, principles, and methods learned in the class.
Management Issue to be Addressed:
This can be a goal to fix issues the company may be experiencing, employee motivation, management styles, or any related areas covered throughout the course. Your issue must not be a strategic-level issue such as increasing the amount of products, going after new customers, markets etc. This must be something internal to the organization directly related to management in some tangible way.
You only need to post the company name and a 3-paragraph summary of your plans for your term paper in the submission box. Submit in a Microsoft Word Document.
In this part you should address the following areas with 1 paragraph for each section:
-Company name, stock symbol, and industry with a brief description.
-Why you chose this company.
-What management-level issue you will be improving through the 4 functions of management.
Management Project Part 2: Draft Submission (10% of total course grade)
Week 9 for 15-week courses
Your draft submission should include content for all categories included in the final paper. Consider this a mini version of your final paper. It is best if you treat this as your final paper and include as much information as you can. The more work you put into this now the less you will have to do later. This will also give the instructor the opportunity to review more of your work and provide more feedback so you can make changes if for your final version.
This paper must consist of at least 400 content words, be fully APA formatted, and include research (At least 3 reference sources total with corresponding in-text citations).
This draft will be graded exactly as the final version regarding the grading rubric and addressing some information in each of the required content areas, proper APA format, and proper use of research. It is assumed this paper will have less detail than your final submission.
