Following the samples of Sabina Perrino and Nancy Scheper-Hughes (see sample ethnographies in our module), write a descriptive story about situation in your life–an event, set of events, articles or books you’ve read, something you’ve studied–that inspired you to ponder, think, ask questions about a particular problem or issue. As you develop this question, consider who would benefit from learning more about this issue and how research in this area would be beneficial to the functioning of our society.
Your story should be about 500 -750 words, and your statement of significance should be about 250 words.
