Address each activity as explained below: 

1. Activity One: Exercise 1: Practice Interviewing from Young (2021) p. 219 – This is to be a group exercise. The number in the group should be 3-4 individuals from your class. Please follow the directions fully. Discuss with your group all aspects of the prompt together. For the purpose of this paper, consider the process you and your group went through in completing this exercise. Then, with critical thought and support, discuss in a minimum of 250 words your group experience in doing this exercise by answering these questions: What are your thoughts on interviewing? What did your group do well? What did the group need to improve upon? What did you learn in working as a group in doing this exercise? What do you need to work on to feel more capable in this ability? 

2. Activity Two: Exercise 2: Boiling Down the Problem from Young (2021) p. 219 This is a group exercise. The number in the group should be 3-4 individuals from your class. Please follow the directions fully. Discuss with your group all aspects of the prompt together. For the purpose of this paper, consider the process you and your group went through in completing this exercise. Then, with critical thought and support, discuss in a minimum of 250 words your group experience in doing this exercise by answering these questions: What are your thoughts on discussing goals using the process of boiling down the problem? What did your group do well? What did the group need to improve upon? What did you learn in working as a group in doing this exercise? What do you need to work on to feel more capable in this ability? 

3. Activity Three: Encouragement versus Praise. Read over Chapter 11, specifically pgs. 273 – 278. Then go to p. 297 and read the Self Assessment: Using Praise exercise. This is a group exercise. The number in the group should be 3-4 individuals from your class. Please follow the directions fully. Within the group, discuss the difference between praise and encouragement and explore your own behaviors when it comes to these terms. Consider how this manifested in your PAS1. During the group discussion, consider what statement on p. 297 fits your current ability and share this with your group. With your group, explain why this statement has been determined to be true for you with at least one example from your PAS1. After the group discussion is complete, reflect on the conversation. Your submission should include your chosen statement from the text, example(s)from your PAS1 that supports your chosen statement, and an explanation of your choice(s) of response(s), if you would do anything differently or not, and why. Also, what do you need to work on to feel more capable in this ability? 

4. Activity Four: Discussion of Broaching from Young (2021) pgs. 66-75; term found on pgs. 68-69 This is a group exercise. The number in the group should be 3-4 individuals from your class. Please follow the directions fully. Read through the designated pages, concentrating on the term broaching. For the purpose of this paper, consider broaching with your group and how this might take place and why in a session with a client; then, with critical thought and support, discuss, in a minimum of 250 words your group experience and include the answers to the following questions: How did you feel about this term and skill overall? How do you see yourself maneuvering this skill in session with a client? What did you learn in working as a group in doing this exercise? What do you need to work on to feel more capable in this ability?
