You should analyze 1 scene from a favorite film or series for the following. REMEMBER DON’T JUST DESCRIBE, ANALYZE! Make sure to say WHAT meaning or effect a particular shot, edit, prop, etc. has in the scene. Why did the filmmakers choose to frame a shot that way or use a particular prop or set design? What do they symbolize within the scene?
- genre (which genre/s, plot, stars, character types)
- mise en scene (lighting, set design, prop, actor blocking, costume/hair/makeup, etc.)
- cinematography (shot types/angles)
- sound design and/or editing
YOU WILL BE GRADED ON THE FOLLOWING: - Critical analysis (in depth analysis)
- Correct use of terminology (lighting, shot types, angles, mise en scene etc.)
- Professionalism (on time, professional presentation)
