Solving a Problem in Your Community-Electronic Waste: A Growing Crisis and Our Collective Response in Chicago, IL

This is a problem-solution essay. The topic (problem) is electronic waste crisis in Chicago. It needs to include recommended solutions and call to action. It has to be specific to the Chicago area. The rubric is attached. I HAVE ATTACHED THE PAPER I SUBMITTED FOR REFERENCE BUT RECEIVED A 0% BECAUSE OF AI AND NOT BEING SPECIFIC ABOUT THE COMMUNITY.

What you have written is more than just another essay for another class. It has the potential to effect real change in your community on an important issue. In order for this to happen, you’ll need to seek out ways to share your writing with community stakeholders and decision-makers, and you are encouraged to do so.

As you prepare to submit your essay, read it aloud from beginning to end and ask yourself, “Does my essay meet all expectations?” To be sure, review the detailed instructions in the Solving a Problem in Your Community overview page and in prior weeks’ assignment pages. Here’s a quick summary of expectations.

  • Subject: A specific, focused, manageable, real-world problem in your community
  • Purpose: To guide readers toward resolving the problem
  • Audience: Those who need to learn from your research and who have the ability to follow your recommendation to resolve the problem
  • Strategy: A problem and solution argument
  • Design: An essay formatted and cited according to current APA Style standards and submitted as a Microsoft Word .docx file
  • Content:
    • At least 1500 words (approximately 6 pages, not counting title page and references page)
    • Introduction, historical cause and effect analysis, evaluation of possible solutions, strong argument recommending a solution or steps toward a solution, and conclusion
    • Support in all essay sections from at least five credible, academic quality sources, which are cited where used in the essay and on a references page

Review feedback from peers, tutors, and your professor. Have you considered all suggestions?

Most important, consider your audience and purpose. Can you confidently deliver your essay to your real-world audience? Will it effectively motivate and guide them to act?
