To be accepted in graduate school at MC, applicants in mental health counseling, marriage and family counseling, and school counseling use to be asked to answer four questions in their graduate essay. Here are 4 of the 8 questions from the past MC graduate application form:
* What significant personal experiences influenced you to pursue the counseling profession?
* What are some personal factors which may get in your way in relationships with clients?
* Describe how your family of origin and/or your present family system deals with feelings and solves problems.
* Describe a personal crisis or a difficult situation and how you coped with it.
Pick 2 of the questions and answer them in a 3-6 page paper, double-spaced, and in APA style. It will be worth 100 points.
