3. Research Approach
This thesis will employ a mixed-method research approach to explore the digitalization aspect during the pandemic and its impact on development, focusing on Germany and Turkey.
Literature Review:
I will conduct an extensive review of existing literature on digital transformation, economic development, and Covid-19’s impact. Sources will include academic journals, government reports, and industry analyses specific to Germany and Turkey. Comparative analyses between the two countries’ pre- and post-pandemic digital development will also be covered.
Primary Research:
Interviews/Surveys: I will carry out qualitative interviews or surveys with experts in digital transformation, policy makers, and business leaders in Germany and Turkey to gather first-hand insights on the countries’ responses to digitalization during the pandemic. Around 15-20participants from both countries will be selected.
Data Analysis: I will analyze secondary economic data (such as GDP, digital infrastructure indices, employment rates) to compare the pandemic’s impact on digitalization and development in Germany and Turkey.
Case Studies: I will explore case studies of specific sectors such as healthcare, education, and commerce, which experienced significant digital transformations due to the pandemic, comparing the approaches taken by both countries.
