Your Task: Use evidence from the two articles (you can use the ones I’ve provided or find
your own sources) to write an argument
essay about whether or not the internet has a
negative impact on our thinking process.
Elements to Include in Your Argument:
- Establish a clear claim (thesis)
- Use reasons to advance your argument
- Provide textual evidence to support your argument. (Quotes from readings. Make sure quotes are introduced, cited (like this) and explained).
- Concede a point
- Include refutation.
- Your conclusion should address “So what? Who cares? Why does it matter?”
Length: 500 words (5 paragraphs: Intro w/Thesis; 2 body paragraphs of support; 1 body paragraph of concession & refutation); a conclusion.
Remember to include a Works Cited page (as well as in-text citations after quotes).
