Review of the attached guide:
1) Choose
two texts that are from the same general time period and cultural context.
2) Look
for what you think feel like important examples of style and content that might
help demonstrate something about cultural or historical values in the time and
place.
3) Your
argument (thesis, main points) should address how/why looking at these texts
today might have different but still meaningful things to say about people, the
world, or the past.
4) Choose
your format in which you will present your entire argument.
5) Draft
and revise your project. The Writing Center or Student Success might be a good
idea at this point.
6) Don’t
forget the works cited for the two literary texts; this is not specifically a
research project, but you do any outside research, include any of those sources
in the works cited as well.
