What can Frederick Douglass’s account and one of the two assigned WPA accounts tell us about the lives of enslaved people and/or their struggles for freedom and better lives?

What can Frederick Douglass’s account and one of the two assigned WPA accounts tell us about the lives of enslaved people and/or their struggles for freedom and better lives? In answering this question, you should discuss how these two sources agree and/or disagree with each other, considering how factors such as gender, age, location, and the conditions under which the account was produced may explain some of the differences.  Do not try to compare every single aspect of these accounts. Instead, you should zero in on a particular theme or topic. This paper should have a thesis and make a coherent and cohesive argument. The point of this paper is to develop your capacity to use primary sources to interpret the past.

Your paper should be written in an easily readable 12-point font, double spaced, with 1” margins all around, and page numbers on the lower right-hand corner. Please submit it to your peer reviewer in .doc or .docx form for easier editing. A title is optional. Your paper should be 5 pages long (plus or minus two paragraphs).

Further clarifications on the paper based on past questions: Your paper is not supposed to be a research paper. You are supposed to read the assigned documents carefully and use them to come up with your own argument. So please do not do additional research.
