Onto some essay guidance:
The key thing to remember is that this assessment is focused on your understanding of the core theories and your ability to summarise them. Engaging in critical discussion is not strictly necessary; the key thing is to show your knowledge of the key theories, and to ensure you use sources to support that discussion.
Something we spoke about in class was that many of you feel like you should be engaging critically with the sources. My advice here is to think about how you are making connections between, presenting or understanding the material. Even an expository essay makes some assumptions about what is important or how the theories relate; try and make these assumptions explicit, as this shows good grasp of the content (but doesn’t necessarily require you to criticise it)
these two are also part of the sources
