Critical Reflection 1: Changing Communication – My Own Learned Self-Disclosure and Communication
Critical Reflection Papers have a three-part purpose. First, they are intended to demonstrate your analysis of the course readings, news reports, or other media pertaining to human development. They can help you keep track of important ideas that you will need to review again in preparing your signature assignment, and can also provide possible topics for your capstone project. Most importantly, they are intended for you to give your critical reflection of the course materials.
Quote from Messages: The Communication Skills Book: “The question isn’t whether to disclose yourself, but how to do it appropriately and effectively” (McKay, et al., p. 24).
You read the quote above within the context of Chapter 2 in Messages: The Communication Skills Book and you learned about how to establish effective communication boundaries in this weeks discussion post. In this assignment, you are writing about your own learned self-disclosure and communication. You have discussed the concept/theory within the framework of boundaries and now you are going to write about your own experiences.
