Papers should be roughly 5-7 pages in length, double-spaced, and typed in Times New Roman 12-point font. The paper should also have a cover sheet and bibliography (which do not count as part of the page count). The paper must be written in your own words and display elements of individual critical thinking and analysis. Your textbook will be your primary source, although you may use other sources as well. Make sure that any source material used is legitimate. DO NOT USE WIKIPEDIA OR OTHER UNRELIABLE SITES! You may use direct quotes where appropriate, but be sure to footnote these to protect yourself from plagiarism. Please follow Kate Turabian’s Manuel of Style. A plagiarized paper will receive an automatic “0” points.
Modern computers make footnoting easy. At the end of your quote or paraphrase, simply click on “References”, and then click on “Insert Footnote”. The computer does all of the hard work, you need only type in the information.
