Article Review Assigment Instructions:
As you become more aware of
the impact of public policy on our healthcare system, you may notice that
certain political, social, or economic policies affect minority populations
differently based on their social and structural determinants of health.
The authors of this article hypothesized that the addition of structural
determinants and root causes will identify racism as a cause of inequities in
maternal health outcomes, as many of the social and political structures and
policies in the United States were born out of racism, classism, and gender
oppression.
