You are each required to make an in-class presentation that deals with the argumentative research essay you have just written. Your goal is to demonstrate a strong and coherent understanding of the topic/issue you have just written about. For this presentation, you will include the following:
* Presentation should be 6 -8 minutes in length (and no more, as we give all of our presentations in two days).
* Presentation should be given from a powerpoint and/or some other similar type of medium and should include several visuals.
* Give your thesis statement at the beginning of your presentation.
* Include all organizational components of the research argument essay — specific background information to issue, a thesis statement/claim, reasons that support your argument, a counter argument/opposing view and your response to that etc throughout your presentation.
* Include at least two secondary sources in relationship to your topic in your presentation. Give a brief summary of your secondary source and explain how the source is pertinent to your topic. Your source must be a credible (peer reviewed) and/or a scholarly source.
* A formal sentence outline (see page 513 in your SMGW) of your presentation and a works cited page including the required secondary source and any other sources you used throughout your presentation will be handed in to me separately before you start your presentation. The works cited page should be cited in MLA format.
