bullet-point list of 3 – 6 major points presented in your report.
this assists stakeholders who may be short on time
this assists you for your visual presentation following Fall Recess (one slide that highlights your points, plus images that are part of your report)
III. Statement of the Problem
Introduce and describe relevant details about the place (city, town, MCMR, community) your case study is situated for this project.
What experience might you explain, personal and/or widely witnessed in media etc., that helps give context for this problem?
In explaining this problem, what issues seem to be fundamental to creating it and/or for its ongoing prevalence?
The above “issues” will be discussed in the next section (FYI).
IV. Overview of the Main Issues
This section is where you will refer to your textbook and other sources that help contextualize each “issue” you introduced toward the end of section III.
Provide subheadings for each of the issues you cover in this section
Explain each issue and how it is a factor in creating/shaping the problem in your case study.
Your textbook and related sources will be used to do this to support your position on these issues and the problem.
V. Solutions
Given the above issues, what solutions do you propose to the stakeholders reading your report consider for transforming urban development/community development? (remember, you are well positioned to describe your town, city, neighborhood, or community as a “social space,” not just an abstract space.)
Bear in mind that you must consider the interests of different people reading your report, the “stakeholders.”
Stakeholders can be business people, political leaders – across the spectrum of conservative and liberal and progressive, and people representing different roles in community maintenance and development.
Again, use textbook and other supporting information from advocacy groups and organizations that help you come up with solutions and the rationale behind them.
