This is a dance research/analysis paper centered on South Korea’s K-pop industry. Specifically female k-pop idols. This paper needs to analyze perceptions, depictions, objectification, and agency in regard to dance and feminine sexuality. Three scholarly sources at minimum (peer reviewed journals are best) must be used. As well as an analysis of at least four music videos, videos of performances and rehearsals (the videos I have chosen are in my outlied attached it can be found easily on Youtube) It is a requirement of the paper to research and discuss on the country’s history regarding important contextual facts, (i.e. feminism, socio-political context, religion, culture, education, class, race, oppression, enslavement) and relate to the thesis. My thesis and detailed outlied is attached to the pdf file please follow it’s structure. The tone should balance an informative, conversational style with college-level academic rigor. Be detailed and use specific examples from the videos and relate them directly to the themes of objectification, agency, and cultural perceptions. You can describe theri exact movements. In my outline I have included sources that can be used but if you find sources that are better you can use those as well. You can use as many sources as need and you can use new articles as sources as well. The only requirement is that at least three of the sources you use must be peer reviewed.
