· 4-5 sources that you have found on your own that do not come from the course pack. Plus any sources you are using from the course packet. Please list your sources using MLA citation. We will go over this in class.
· At least three of the sources must be a scholarly peer-reviewed article.
· Each source must be annotated. The annotation for each source should be one short paragraph. Please be sure to include the following in each annotation:
o Summary of the source: What is the main argument? What is the topic and what is the point of this article?
o Assess the usefulness: Do you think this source will be useful to you in your research? What kind of source is this? Is it an academic article, is it a contemporary piece of journalism? Is this a reliable source?
o Reflect: How does this source fit into your research? Is this source helpful to you? How does it help your argument?
The final draft of your research paper should present a clear and arguable claim that integrates a primary source (Exit West) with relevant secondary sources from class and your own research (at least three scholarly). Your paper should have clear sections that advance your argument in a logical manner and it should be written using appropriate word choice, grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. The criteria of a research paper are 1) establishment and development of a clear and thoughtful argument 2) use and integration of appropriate primary and secondary evidence 3) clarity, readability, and grammatical correctness.
Requirements:
• Use Times New Roman 12-point font with one-inch margins
• Include an original title, in text citations, a Works Cited, and number your pages
• 6-10 pages
