Introduction
In Assessment 4, you’ll create a PowerPoint presentation analyzing a recent current event that has sparked an ethical dilemma related to EDI. You’ll apply an ethical theory from Fisher’s (2023) Decoding the Ethics Code: A Practical Guide for Psychologists to explain the dilemma. The presentation will include an overview of the event, an analysis of the ethical theory, strategies to address the dilemma, and proactive measures to prevent future incidents.
Create a PowerPoint presentation analyzing a current event featured in a local or national media outlet within the last month that created an ethical dilemma. The dilemma must revolve around some aspect of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Apply one ethical theory from Chapter 4 of the Fisher (2023) text Decoding the Ethics Code: A Practical Guide for Psychologists that you think best explains the nature of this ethical dilemma (for example, Kantian, Utilitarianism, Communitarianism, Relational, Social Justice, or others). Then, identify strategies for addressing this ethical dilemma and consider proactive measures for preventing future incidents using research, best practices, and professional guidelines. Your conclusion should address additional factors to consider.
