Instruction: What To Include on Each Slide

*consider how to title each slide to draw students attention it to what they will discover on the slide

  • Slide 1: Title of the Google Slide Presentation (I WILL DO THIS ONE)
  • Slides 2 and 3: Two to three bullet points that represent the role the French played in our history (the significant people, events, places, and/or motivation you think is crucial for students to know about Michigan history)
  • Slides 4 and 5: Two to three bullet points that represent the role the British played in our history (the significant people, events, places, and/or motivation you think is crucial for students to know about Michigan history)
  • Slides 6 and 7: Indigenous Peoples: their important role and influence in this history
  • Slide 8: Why Learning about Michigan History Matters: Remember, in using the content standards, we want students to start thinking historically; how we tell the story matters!!
    • Questions to consider as you create this slide:
      • Why is it important that students understand this part of Michigan history?
      • How does knowing about the past connect us to the present?
      • What overarching theme or deeper meaning about life can be drawn from Michigan’s past?
      • Review the historical thinking concepts..they should help you think about purposes too… (cause/effect, significant events, perspective, change and continuity…etc.) Websites for Visuals
