Your literature review should be based on 3-4 references (articles, chapters, could be audio-visual references as well) at this point (later on you will add an additional 6 or 7 references). You will need to look up relevant readings using key words from your topic. The literature review relates to previous work in the area. You should present a theory or theories that help explain the phenomena you are exploring. You should summarize arguments that you read and present studies that have been done in this area. For the proposal, your literature review should be about 2-3 pages. Later on, you will extend this literature review. The reader should reach the end of this section having a sense of the theoretical and practical implications of this research. Sometimes it helps to divide up your literature review into subsections with titles.
