Introduction
· Contains all of the pertinent background information for the reader to understand the experiment and is communicated in a logical order. NO direct quotations. 10 points
· Some information is missing and the information is convoluted: 5 point
· Insufficient information has been included and is not communicated in a way that can be understood: 0 points
Methods
· All parts of the methods section are covered in the paper and are well thought out. Methods is an analysis summation and not just a copy/paste of what they are saying. NO direct quotations. 10 points
· The methods are missing critical information, are overly generic, or are missing important pieces. 5 points
· Not enough information is provided, the information is confusing, or the methods are listed in bullet points: 0 points.
Results
· Results from the three papers are well summarized and common themes are discussed with findings. Any inconsistencies/differences are highlighted between research articles. Results section is not just a copy and paste of findings from the other papers. NO direct quotations. 10 points.
· Portions of the results section need additional work or are not clearly written. If graphical figure is included it is not well explained/captioned. 5 points.
· Results are only presented in the graph and a paragraph describing the results is missing: 0 points.
Discussion
· Clearly outlines the final out comes of the paper, comparing and contrasting findings and identifying areas of needed growth/inconsistences. Paper expresses what further needs of research are needed to make a more complete study (experiments suggested and supported with reasoning) and does not just say further research is needed. Author’s own input can be put into this section. 10 points
· Discussion follows most of the guidelines up top but section needs some improvements. 5 points.
· Discussion is convoluted or hard to understand. Missing significant work. 0 points.
Literature Cited
· All information that is not common knowledge has an in-text citation and the articles cited in the lab report are listed at the end of the report. All of the citations listed at the end of the report are cited in the text of the lab report itself. At least 3 relevant references are cited. All citations are from peer reviewed sources. Both in text citations and the literature cited list follow APA formatting. All information in the report has been paraphrased into student’s own words. 5 points.
· Appropriate citations are provided, but are not properly formatted: 2.5 points.

Presentation
· Clearly written, no grammar errors, neat and well thought out, follows scientific formal lab report guidelines, and shows a thorough understanding of the experiment: 5 points
