Correlation study : The analysis includes bivariate tests (such as the Mann–Whitney U test and Spearman correlation) to explore the relationships between variables, and logistic regression to determine the significant impact of the independent variables on eating disorder behaviour. It is a questionnaire survey as well as standardised questionnaire measures will be used Independent Variables: • Body Shape Questionnaire – Revised (BSQ 16b): Peter J. Cooper, Michael J. Taylor, Zafra Cooper, Christopher G. Fairburn • Collective Self Esteem Scale (CSES): Riia Luhtanen, Jennifer Crocker • Body Mass Index (BMI): Used as an objective measure of the participants’ physical condition. • Comprehensive Quality of Life Scale A5 (Adults) (COM-QoL A5 ): Australian Centre on Quality of Life Dependent Variables: • Eating disorder behavior: Measured through the Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26) (David M. Garner, Marion P. Olmsted, Yvonne Bohr, Paul E. Garfinkel ) which serves as the main outcome or dependent variable that the study aims to understand and predict. • Eating Attitudes Test (EAT 26): This study measures the impact of the independent variables Self-Esteem, Body Image, Quality of Life, and BMI on the dependent variable, Eating Behavior, through multiple regression analysis. The purpose is to examine how these independent variables contribute to variations in eating behavior, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing disordered eating. Multiple regression will be used to analyze the relationship between these predictors and eating behavior, taking into account the combined effects of self-esteem, body image, quality of life, and BMI.
The relationship between body image perception, disordered eating behavior, self-esteem, and quality of life among Greek adults aged 18-40
