“How do perceptions of police legitimacy affect community cooperation with law enforcement?”

In this assignment, you are required to complete the Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review, and Reference Page for the Research Paper that you have due in Week 7.

Therefore, in this assignment, you are required to do the following using the research question that you developed and submitted in Week 2 (and employing the feedback given to you in the submission comments):

  1. Read ALL of the directions for the Annotated Bibliography that is coming up due in the future of this class (to see the reference page requirements for this assignment) and the Research Paper that is due in Week 7.
  2. Complete a literature review with a 100-150 word abstract, a 200-300 word introduction, a 500-750 word literature review, and a reference page that meets the required number of references listed in the Annotated Bibliography assignment that is upcoming. There is an example of what you need to submit here attached in the Week 4 Module.
  3. Format this assignment in APA format and use the example titled Literature_Review_Sample located in the Week 4 Module as a guide.
  4. Submit this as a Microsoft Word Document.
  5. Apply the feedback that I give you from this assignment on the Research Paper that you submit as an upcoming deliverable.

The annotated bibliography is a very important step that will increase the chances of you writing a successful research paper.  Basically, the annotated bibliography is a way to write down and organize the results of your research BEFORE you start drafting the paper.

WHAT IS THE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY?

An annotated bibliography is a list of approved peer reviewed journal articles that is organized like a Reference page of an APA Research Paper with APA citation. However, after each entry you write a few paragraphs summarizing the source, evaluating its credibility, and reflecting on its usefulness for your topic.

Let me be clear: the annotated bibliography comes BEFORE the Research Paper, that is the purpose of it due before the Research Paper.  You will use the sources THAT YOU ALREADY SUBMITTED in Week 4 and expand your research within those sources in order to develop them for use in the upcoming research paper.

The Purdue OWL has a whole section devoted to annotated bibliographies,Links to an external site. including a sample with three paragraphs after each entry.  Below are the guidelines for the annotated bibliography you’re going to write for this class.

1.The assignment is to annotate a MINIMUM of six sources that you will be REQUIRED to use as your references for the Research Paper that is due in the future.  Again these are the same sources that you submitted in the assignment from Week 4 but you are developing them more fully here.  For direction on what type of sources that you should use in the Annotated Bibliography, read the directions of the assignment titled Research Paper that is upcoming.

2. The class text MUST be used as one of the minimum of six references.

3. For the others, Five MINIMUM of these sources must be peer reviewed scholarly journal articles collected from the Proquest or EBSCO databases accessed in the SSC online library.  These references MUST be peer reviewed as well.  If you need assistance accessing these acceptable references from the SSC online library, there is chat option on the library page to chat with a librarian and I recommend that to get assistance.

4.  Each of the minimum of six sources should be a minimum of 250 words.  Also, each reference should be included and cited in APA format (that reference in APA citation is not part of the minimum word count).

Submit this Annotated Bibliography in APA format aligning with the formatting at the Purdue OWL link above as a Microsoft Word document.

Class text is “A Practical Introduction to Real-World Research” Loreen Wolfer.
