This research exercise seeks to undertake a comprehensive study of the supply chain logistics system to identify the common problems that affect it. With the identification of the problems facing this sector, it will be possible to propose and recommend solutions that may be effective for optimizing the supply chain process. In this study, there will be the exploration of the different stages that characterize the supply chain process namely, procuring, transporting, storing, and dispersion of products. Among the common problems that the research may find and focus on include the bottlenecks in the systems used for transportation, ineffective communication systems, and poor management of the inventory. To be in a position to carry out effective and thorough research on this topic, there will be a need for guiding questions and the major guiding question for this research will be: “What are the challenges that face the supply chain problem and how can these challenges be tackled through the optimization of the supply chain process stages?” This study will consult different case studies, and past scholarly research data to acquire information about different identified problems in the supply chain process and proven strategies that have worked in tackling them. Through a thorough search for relevant research articles and effective analysis of them, it will be possible to derive evidence-based strategies. This information will serve as recommendations that can align with the identified problems to enhance the overall supply chain system. In a nutshell, this research topic will focus on the common problems facing the supply chain system and the strategies that have been proven to work well in tackling the problems in question.
