Critically appraise the concept of sustainable design and why businesses need to incorporate it into their thinking. Offer proposed solutions incorporating incentives and developments in technology and avoid pitfalls by researching market trends and proposed Government actions or legislation.
In approximately 900 words, the student should briefly describe the approach to ‘Sustainable Design’ of their organisation.
Critically analyse the organisation’s approach to measuring and monitoring data centre energy efficiency, highlight key metrics already in use within the organisation and identify any others that could improve the organisation’s energy usage.
Contrast the pros/cons of the existing approach, given the toolkits being utilised, and explain the business correlation (or lack thereof).
Critically appraise the organisation’s sustainability policy and identify how the organisation might benefit from being updated to align with pending or possible changes to legislation, changes in technology or changes in best practice.
