Agricultural microbiology and bioaugmentation : This topic covers the impact of microorganisms on agriculture.

 

1.   Write a 2-4 page typed paper.  (The papers can be longer.)  You are encouraged to

     coordinate the paper with the English
department.  You can do one well written
paper

     to turn in for credit in both classes.

 

2.  For references include at least 2 magazine or
journal articles, one of which must be

     from a science journal.  Scientific web sites will also be accepted.  Do not use

     encyclopedias as a reference.  You may use whatever books are
applicable. 

     Scientific websites are acceptable.

 

3.  Please summarize the reference articles in
your own words.  Do not copy the
articles.

     Any papers plagiarized will receive a
zero
.  Document sources and cite
material

     taken from the sources.  Correctly identify both direct and
manipulated quotation.  If

     you need help, see an English instructor
or me during office hours.   

 

4.  Include a bibliography page, which includes
the following information from your

     resources: journal and article name or
book name, author, page numbers, volume

     numbers, dates, and/or publishers.  The purpose of a bibliography page is to
identify

     what ideas came from which sources.  

 

5.  Cite the sources in the body of the paper by
APA style.  This is a publication manual

     which explains the proper techniques and
rules for writing papers.  A copy of this
is

     available in the library, but it may not
be checked out.

Title – It summarizes the main ideas.

            a. Margins: minimum of one inch on
all sides.

            b. Don’t justify right margin.

            c. Indent each paragraph 5-7 spaces.

            d. Indent the first line of each
reference entry for references.

            e. Cite the source in the body of
the paper: use the authors’ last name(s) and the

   
date.
