Short term: start as a risk analyst or associate in consulting firms and be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing risks within your organization.
Long-term: With several years of experience, advance to the position of a risk manager. In this role, I will have more responsibility for designing and implementing risk management strategies.
A brief discussion of a particular risk field or issue of interest
a particular risk field or issue of interest in current business is cybersecurity. With the increasing reliance on digital technologies and data, organizations are highly concerned about the risks associated with cyberattacks, data breaches, and the protection of sensitive information. Cybersecurity risk management involves safeguarding digital assets, preventing unauthorized access, and ensuring data privacy, making it a critical focus area for businesses today.
Academic and professional experiences: study foundation business and economics courses at the undergraduate level. This knowledge and skills can provide me with a solid foundation for my career in the business and economic fields, as well as offer opportunities for deeper specialization. Additionally, these courses can help me cultivate important professional skills such as analysis, decision-making, and communication.
My internship experience as a finance intern provided me with valuable practical experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, which are essential skills for a career in finance and related fields. From a marketing internship, I have learned how effective branding and communication strategies can help manage and mitigate reputational and perception risks associated with marketing campaigns and brand image. From a business development internship, I have learned how to identify and assess potential market, partnership, and growth-related risks, as well as strategies to mitigate and leverage these risks for organizational growth and expansion.
Particular courses of interest
My path target core courses are Strategic management and Financial management. Also, as now coding is famous to all subjects, I am also looking forward to learn the course of “Coding for Risk Management”. By studying Python, SQL, R, git, and AWS, students gain exposure to different syntaxes. Students apply these skills by coding upmarket risk and credit risk models. Students also gain familiarity with working in the cloud. I believe I would become a more comprehensive person.
