Weekly Discussions Guidelines:
- Students are asked to discuss concepts in an effort to increase everyone’s understanding of the concept, as opposed to a regurgitation of the facts. When responding to a peer’s post, expand upon the discussion with additional information related to the concepts. Share experiences, thoughts and ideas related to the discussion and support the discussion with resources. In addition, ask peers questions to stimulate critical thinking and deepen the discussion. Responses should be substantive.
- Your initial or first posting is due on Thursday by 11:59 PM EST and your last posting (response to at least one peer’s post) will be due by Sunday at 11:59 PM EST. You must post an initial posting and at least one additional posting on different days of the week.
- You must cite at least one (1) reference for each question of the initial post and provide a reference list at the end of the post. A minimum from the reading assignment includes the textbook or a peer-reviewed journal article and an additional resource from the literature must be cited as well–you will need to search the literature for an appropriate peer reviewed journal article to cite in your initial discussion post. Therefore, at least 2 references must be utilized for the initial post and each question must have at least one citation. In addition, a reference must be cited in responses to peer’s initial posts as well. Citing references to reading assignments and other professional resources validate your understanding of the discussions is required: this citing must be according to APA format, 7th edition.
- Your assignment will be graded according to these guidelines and grading rubric.
