Abstract

Purpose: Using the John Hopkins Model, the purpose of this projects is to reduce the number of peripheral and central line associated infections in hospitalized patients

Implementation Strategies: 

Stakeholders: All Mercy San Juan registered healthcare professionals and competent technicians who access central and peripheral IV lines will be affected by this practice change including ICU, OR, Radiology and ED staff.  This change will also be submitted for approval to the infection control officer and to departmental managers for application.
