Maintaining Professionalism with Workplace Incivility

Purpose:

This assessment will assist you in identifying civil healthcare environments and factors to decrease incivility while promoting professionalism as an APRN professional.

Directions:

Review the videos of “Opportunity to Apply TeamSTEPPS Technique to Improve Outcome” and  “Physician’s Office: Successful Outcome Using TeamSTEPPS Techniques” as included in the course Readings List.

Use the videos to answer the following, utilizing resources to support your conclusions:

  1. Discuss three issues in the “Opportunity to Apply” video that you identify as barriers to providing effective care.
  2. Address what you may do differently to provide a better care experience.
  3. Compare the “Opportunity to Apply” video to the “Successful Outcome” video, describe three differences in the successful outcome video which promote collaboration and communication.

Your paper must be presented in a single document. It should be a minimum of 2 pages in length, not including the title and reference pages. You should include an introduction and conclusion.

Your paper must use proper APA formatting as directed in the APA Publication Manual, 7th edition, including the title page and reference page, with properly formatted in-text citations within the body of the paper.
