The aim of this short paper assignment is to follow your own interest in going more in depth on a topic regarding religion and drugs, using scholarly sources.
Guidelines
1. Write a minimum 1000-word essay, double-spaced, using a bibliography of at least five academic sources (class readings are allowed). Submit as a Word document.
2. Choose one of the topics listed below OR consult the professor about another topic.
3. Do NOT use the internet or generative AI for this writing project. Instead, use online academic journal databases and instructor-approved websites. Websites must be sent to Dr. Carr for approval before you submit your paper.
Any paper that Dr. Carr suspects to have utilized AI will not be graded until after Dr. Carr has asked to meet with the student who submitted it.

5. You may use Chicago style, APA, or MLA for your citation method. You might see Dr. Carr’s writing handouts for instructions regarding Chicago style, which is one common style guide in religious studies.
6. Papers will be run through a plagiarism detector.
