Podcast Structure and Requirements:
This project involves creating a 15-minute podcast-style panel discussion with three distinct panelists. Each panelist will contribute to a conversation on the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Action.
Key Points to Communicate:
-
Three Panelists: The podcast must be split between three panelists, and each panelist should contribute to the discussion on every question. It should feel like a natural conversation, with everyone participating in each part of the debate, rather than simply taking turns. The flow should be interactive, with panelists building on each other’s points.
-
Debate/Conversation Style:
- The script should simulate a real panel discussion or debate. Panelists should not just deliver their own points but respond to, challenge, or support each other’s views. This ensures a lively and engaging discussion.
- Since CSR often involves ethical dilemmas and contrasting viewpoints, the script should explore pros and cons of CSR initiatives, making sure that different perspectives are presented and debated.
-
Timing:
- The podcast should last 15 minutes, so the script needs to be detailed enough to cover this length of time.
- Each panelist should speak for approximately 5 minutes in total (spread across the different topics), with contributions woven throughout the conversation.
-
Research Evidence:
- In addition to the podcast, each of the three panelists will need to submit a two-sided A4 page script showing evidence of their research. This means we need three different A4 scripts (one per panelist) to accompany the podcast, with academic and practice-based sources backing up their points.
- The writer should incorporate research from academic journals, business case studies, and reliable sources into the script itself, with proper citations to show where the information comes from.
Format:
-
Script Style: The entire conversation should be written in script form, showing each panelist’s dialogue. For example:
- Panelist 1: “I believe that successful companies integrate CSR by aligning it with their core business values. For example, Unilever’s sustainable living plan demonstrates…”
- Panelist 2: “That’s a good point, but I’d argue that many companies struggle with balancing profit and CSR. Take Coca-Cola, for instance, where…”
- Panelist 3: “I see both sides here, but in terms of overcoming these challenges, companies like… have found innovative ways to integrate CSR and maintain profits.”
-
Balance of Arguments: Ensure all panelists have equal speaking time, contributing to every question asked, so it feels like an authentic back-and-forth discussion.
Key Questions:
The podcast must cover the following questions in a conversational and evidence-backed format:
- How do successful companies integrate CSR into their core business strategies?
- What are the challenges of implementing CSR, and how can they be overcome?
- What are some CSR programs that have positively impacted both the company and society?
